Food Rescue Requirements:

Greensburg Community Bread of Life, Inc. requires that all donated food
please meet certain criteria to insure that the food we present to the hungry is safe.

• All prepared/perishable food donated to BOL must come from a Board of Health approved kitchen
• Non-perishable items can be donated by anyone
• Food must be less than 48 hours old from initial preparation, unless frozen, please let our volunteer know the date in which the food was prepared
• Food must not have been available to the public for self-service (like a buffet-style setting)
• Food must be handled with sanitary conditions
• Must be maintained within the safe food handling temperatures of below 40 degrees or above 140 degrees Fahrenheit
• Food can not be accepted if it has been at room temperature for more than 2 hours
• Food must be properly chilled down and kept in the refrigerator or freezer until our food rescue personnel arrives
• Is at least 15 pounds per pick up
